Michaels Associates Design Consultants Inc. is a firm of problem solvers, specializing in library planning and interior design since January 1975. In 1982, David and Andrea Michaels incorporated the partnership with Andrea Arthur Michaels, IIDA as President and majority owner and David Leroy Michaels, IIDA as Vice-President.
Andrea and David have learned from and contributed to the library field through their American Library Association committee assignments in LAMA and in BES and through their speaking engagements in ALA, PLA, and the NCCPP. Both Andrea and David are published authors on the subject of design and planning in such professional journals as American Libraries, Wilson Library Bulletin, Library Journal, Library Hi Tech, Computers In Libraries and The Encyclopedia of Library and Information Science. Educators, also, they teach classes in their field at universities, for state library associations and through independent seminars.
Michaels Associates approach each project with an open mind and treat each as a unique opportunity. Interiors clients not only appreciate their informed, rational solutions and their creative aesthetic selections, but- also their skills as library consultants. The results of their involvement yield attractive and functional environments and fresh approaches to services, collections, storage and display.
